Hi, I'm Reverend Gena Anderson. I am the Associate Pastor of Young Adults at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth. I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the age of 18, I left Tulsa to attend Texas Christian University (TCU). While attending TCU, I was involved in a serious automobile accident that
renewed my sense of God's presence in my life. After the accident, I felt called to go into ministry (actually, the call had been there for most of my life, I just was too stubborn to listen to it). As a child, I used to give regular performances to my family where I acted like a preacher. Those performances usually involved baton twirling along with a stand up comedy routine. In 2001, I graduated from TCU. A few months after my graduation from TCU, I began attending seminary at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. In 2005, I graduated from Perkins, got married to my beloved husband Jeff, and began serving this wonderful church the week after I returned from my honeymoon. I am the proud mother of two sweet little girls.
